All three boys went to surf camp and 'did it.' Nate and Ave got really good deals
on some old boards; we bought them and were in the surf just about every day. Surf
Club, in Pacific Beach, was incredibly helpful -- from surfing stuff, to lessons, to
details on where to get the best seafood. The locals shared what seemed to be long-held
lore when they recommended Surf Club ... "talk to JK [Jeff Kinney], he'll set you up."
(Surf Club, 858.483.4854). With Jeff and our instructor Carrie, we did just great.
(Dad was glad to soak in the hot tub at night.)
